Here are the books I mentioned during the 8/15 Q&A onference call, as being only a few of the wonderful macrobiotic recovery story/useful books/cookbooks available: Becoming Whole, The Story of My Complete Recovery From Breast Cancer by Meg Wolff (http://macrobiotics.co.uk/features/megwolff.htm); The Cure is in the Kitchen, A Guide to Healthy Eating by Sherry A. Rogers, M.D.; Food, Faith & Healing, 40 Macrobiotic Accounts of Cancer & Illness by Ginat Rice (http://www.thericehouse.com/); Love, Sanae, Healing Vegan Macrobiotic Cooking by Sanae Suzuki; My Beautiful Life, How Macrobiotics Brought Me From Cancer to Radiant Health, by Milenka ‘Mina’ Dobic; Recovery From Cancer by Elaine Nussbaum; The Self-Healing Cookbook by Kristina Turner; Unexpected Recoveries, Seven Steps to Healing Body, Mind, and Soul When Serious Illness Strikes by Tom Monte. One phrase that really stuck with me from one of the many wonderful counselors at this (37th) year’s George Ohsawa Macrobiotic Foundation Camp at French Meadows in Tahoe National Forest, CA, was, “be gentle with yourself” and compassionate. These books and many others, in addition to your continuing to work with a good macrobiotic counselor, can provide you with the gentle support and confidence which you can use to help heal yourself. Many sites which sell the books have small write-ups about them (http://www.kushistore.com/acatalog/Cancer.html), (http://www.ohsawamacrobiotics.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=17&Itemid=5), and I would encourage anyone to support important macrobiotic centers by purchasing books from them whenever possible.
Hi Phiya!
Loved your voice of encouragment to the gal w the breast cancer..When are you and these fabulous calls returning!!?? Miss you!
Question for you..Im going thru a similar situation as the gal that has been trying to reverse her breast cancer for 2 years (on this con call)..Im at it almost a year now..are these time frames typical? Bob Mikells recovered in 7 months..We all hope for such “instant” gratification..healing takes time..but anxiety rises as we continue fighting..Have you seen many/any recoveries from metastatic breast cancer? Other types of cancer seem to be cleared so much easier than breast. Is that true as well?
Thanks so much for your insight!
