At 51, Phiya Kushi has never had a glass of milk his entire life. He also never ate meat including beef, chicken and pork. He does enjoy fairly fish often. He avoids sugar, junk food and most processed foods. Except for visits to the dentist he has never taken any medications whatsoever for any condition including aspirin. He has never been hospitalized nor has he seen a Doctor for anything more than a check-up. He hasn’t spent a penny on health insurance for himself. He has only had acupuncture once in his life and, other than that, has never used any alternative treatment or therapy nor does he take any nutritional supplements. He is not immune to illness and does get sick once in a while at which time he either sleeps, fasts, changes his diet or prepares a home food-based remedy for himself. Phiya Kushi is the third son of macrobiotic and natural food pioneers, Michio and Aveline Kushi.
